Creating this issue, I was thinking of St. Teresa of Avila and Mechthild of Magdeburg, and of ascending beyond the obvious and literal in choosing a phrase by Carmen Torres (completely out of context and originally published in the Holy Rosary Church bulletin in 2009) about the role of the Virgin Mary.
